We are in the era of growing technology, so it is better to be careful about things like online information theft and impersonation. In an environment where personal security is seen as essential, the government is also making various efforts to detect fakes.

After downloading the app, you need to give permission to its supports. That means this app will ask permission to access camera, text message. Then, with the help of the rear camera of the smartphone, the QR code on the PAN card can be scanned and the information can be obtained. If the PAN card is fake, the app will not reveal any 

information. IN that regard, the Income Tax Department of India has launched a new app to detect fake PAN cards. All PAN cards issued from 2018 will have a unique QR code. Based on this, the department has developed an app to detect fakes.

 

To scan this QR code, Android smartphone owners need to download the Enhanced PAN QR Code Reader app from Google Play Store.

TO VERIFY THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE PAN CARD, FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW

• First, you need to log in to Google Play Store and download Enhanced PAN QR Code Reader.
• Make sure that the app is developed by the developer 'NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited'
• Click Next
• A camera with a green dot in the middle will open
• Scan the dot so that it is in the center of the PAN card QR code
• After scanning, you will get information related to that PAN cardholder.

• You can check your PAN card by visiting the Income Tax website. Here’s how:

  STEP1: First, click on the official income tax department website- www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal.

  STEP2: Now click on Verify Your PAN option.

  STEP3: On clicking it, a new page will open in front of you.

  STEP4: Now, you will be asked for your mobile number, date of birth, and PAN card information.

  STEP5: Now, you need to check whether the income tax data matches your data or not.

  STEP6: After this, you will know whether this PAN is real or fake.
