How to Change Your WhatsApp Phone Number Without Losing Your Chats
Before you start changing your phone number, insert the SIM card with the new phone number into your phone and make sure it can receive SMS or phone calls. It's also worth noting that your old phone number should still be listed on WhatsApp. By tapping your profile in the WhatsApp settings menu, you can view the registered phone number. A screen with your name and phone number registered with the app will appear. After you've gone through the preceding steps, you can proceed to the steps below to change your WhatsApp number.
1.Launch WhatsApp on your smartphone.
2.If you have an iPhone, go to Settings. Android users can access the settings menu by tapping the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the screen.
3.Now, select the Account option and then Change Number.
4.You'll now be prompted to confirm whether you can receive SMS or phone calls on your new number. If you've agreed, click the Next button.
5.Enter both your old and new phone numbers.
6.To proceed to the final stage of changing your WhatsApp number, tap Next.
7.WhatsApp will now ask if you want your contacts to be notified of your new phone number. You can select All contacts, Contacts I have chatted with, or custom numbers — who will be notified?
WhatsApp will ask you to register a new phone number. You will receive a 6-digit code by SMS or phone to complete the registration process. After registering, WhatsApp chat will continue to be available with your new phone number.
